Dones Mentores-Emakume Mentoreak is strongly committed to training: training for mentors, resilient women’ associations, organizations, professionals, institutions… As part of this commitment, on May 19 and 20 we provided training at the Abanto Zierbena City Council (Bizkaia). The objective was to provide professionals in the areas of equality and social services with knowledge and practical tools on mentoring with a gender perspective, its inclusion into the network of municipal services and institutions, as well as its impact on the care of women.

In both sessions, we addressed social mentoring with a gender perspective and its applicability to combat gender-based violence; social reparation and restitution, as well as the territorial experiences of Dones Mentores-Emakume Mentoreak. Given the characteristics and context of Abanto Zierbena, we paid special attention to mentoring experiences with migrant women.

Dones Mentores-Emakume Mentoreak will return to Abanto Zierbena to participate as speakers in an awareness-raising event open to the general public, as part of the events surrounding November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

We thank the institution and all attendees for their commitment and participation in the two training sessions.
