Since our inception in 2017, at Dones Mentores -Emakume Mentoreak we have worked resolutely to offer social mentoring with a gender perspective as a tool for empowering women, especially those who have experienced gender-based violence. The project was born in Barcelona in 2017.  inspired by the experience of KVINFO, a leading Danish center for gender equality, and since then we have continued to grow and consolidate our methodology.

In 2025, we took a very important step: we obtained the MC Seal (Quality Mentoring), awarded by the Coordinadora de Mentoría Social. This accreditation recognizes that our project meets demanding methodological quality standards, established based on validated international criteria and adapted to the national context.

The evaluation process was rigorous, including a document review and interviews with the technical team, mentors, and mentees. This recognition confirms that the work carried out over these years, from the training and support of participants to the social impact of mentoring, meets solid quality criteria. The MC Seal, valid for three years, encourages us to continue improving and innovating in our practice. We sincerely thank everyone who has been part of this journey, and the Social Mentoring Coordinator for her support.
