Mentoring applied to the care of women in situations of gender-based violence
What?
The SOC (Employment Office of Catalonia) aims to explore new methodologies that incorporate quality elements into its care of women, achieving this through training for specialised attention for women in situations of gender-based violence.
From the hand of the secretariat of the Board of Directors of the SOC of Catalonia, Dones Mentores developed a pilot mentoring program to be launched in the area of Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
Why?
Dones Mentores participated in the design of a program to establish networks of women trained in mentoring. We worked particularly on pre-employment issues for women who suffer or have suffered gender-based violence, recognising lived experiences of violence and how this can affect employability.
Dones Mentores seeks to transcend the idea of on-off employment, complementing it with elements that impact the status of women in the labour market. We seek not only to promote employment, but to position women as active protagonists in the labour market both at present and in the future.
