Execution period: project started in 2023. In progress.

What?

In 2023 we started this Mentor Network project, supported by the Banco Sabadell Foundation. In addition to training and accompanying 40 women mentors, giving them tools to combat new forms of violence such as digital violence, the project will analyse the scope of an emerging phenomenon: in the mentoring interviews that we carry out at Dones Mentores, we have detected the concern of some women survivors of violence about their children’s detachment and lack of empathy regarding the meaning and implications of violence and inequality.

We will share and disseminate the lessons learned of the project; young people will participate in the creation of a mural in the city of L’ Hospitalet de Llobregat to raise awareness about sexist violence. We will present recommendations so that educators and pedagogical institutions have the necessary evidence to confront the disaffection of young people about the reality of violence.

Why?

We believe that the emerging phenomenon of disaffection, which is emerging also among young people across the general educational system, should be an element of concern that society should not ignore or neglect. For this reason, the project includes the search for evidence, and a dissemination and communication phase aimed at raising awareness among young people about sexist violence, carried out with the collaboration of “Ojalá Projects”, an organisation that promotes innovation by putting art and culture at the service of social impact and inclusion.
