Mentoring Programme “Competent Women” – Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Catalonia)

What?
In 2025, the first social mentoring project with a gender perspective will begin in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, within the framework of the “Dones Comeptents” (Competent Women) programme. This new line of action incorporates mentoring as an innovative tool for the support and empowerment of women in situations of vulnerability or risk of social exclusion. The project is implemented in two main actions:
- Intensive training for volunteer mentors: Working professional women in the municipality receive theoretical and practical training to acquire mentoring tools with a gender perspective, aimed at the safe and transformative support of participants.
- Mentoring and personalized support to the municipal technical team: Advice and support are provided to the project’s technical lead, to guarantee a quality implementation adapted to the local reality.
The objectives are: to accompany women in active job search to improve their employability and autonomy, working mentoring from an essentially feminist approach and promoting pre-employment aspects; to weave a solid support network and promote community participation.
Why?
The “Dones Competents” programme is committed to social mentoring as a strategy for innovation and social impact, following models recognized by European and international organizations. Mentoring with a gender perspective and feminist approach allows us to simultaneously address the personal, structural and community dimensions of inequality, promoting individual empowerment and strengthening the social capital of the municipality.
Dones Mentores knows and works intensively on the impact of violence in all areas of women’s lives in all the projects we have active. Furthermore, the replication of this Women Mentors model in the field of employability carried out in Santa Coloma de Gramenet with the Employment Service of Catalonia, fully justifies this collaboration with Santa Perpètua de Mogoda within its Dones Competents programme.
