Execution period: 2025. In progress.
What?
In 2025, we have launched a training project in Abanto-Zierbena, aimed at both the City Council’s Equality and Social Services Service teams and the municipality’s citizens. The initiative seeks to strengthen care for women in vulnerable situations and promote community participation through mentoring. The project’s main actions are:
- Specialized training for municipal teams, with training sessions for the Equality and Social Services Service teams, to provide them with knowledge and practical tools on mentoring with a gender perspective, its integration into public services, and its impact on care for women.
- Citizen awareness day around November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, dedicated to explaining the meaning of mentoring networks and the importance of community participation.
Why?
The project responds to the Abanto-Zierbena City Council’s need to innovate in serving women in vulnerable situations, incorporating mentoring as a transformative tool. It also reflects the commitment of Dones Mentores- Emakume Mentoreak to respond positively to any local request to raise awareness about gender-sensitive mentoring and its impact on the region.
