Pilot program co-created in collaboration with EMAKUNDE
What?
Bizitu, an association of survivors in the Basque region of Bizkaia, contracted Dones Mentores to provide training in mentoring and in accompaniment of women using this tool. With the participation of EMAKUNDE, the proposal became the first pilot program of Mentoring from a Gender Perspective in the Basque Country. We provided training for the Bizitu Elkartea Association to help them develop a community participation initiative, providing support and accompaniment to the OAV victim attention office in Bilbao.
Why?
With Mentoring fully validated and demonstrated to be a valuable impact tool in the accompaniment of women in situations of gender-based violence, Emakunde intends to test it in its healthcare network and assess how its results in its territory are evaluated.
